CSA Member Management

Getting Started

1. Register with Local Fork for free by visiting http://www.localfork.com/UserProfile.mvc/Registration

2. Once your registration is complete, log in to your account and click on “Organizations” in your Profile Menu.

3. Click on “Add New Organization” on the upper right corner of your window.

Be sure to select your organizations “type” in the drop down menu. If you don’t find a category that suits your organization, please suggest one we could add by emailing feedback@localfork.com

4. You will be returned to the Organizations page on your profile. Click on “(Admin Dashboard)” to the right of your newly created organization.

Use the Organization Menu to create a public profile, invite new members, send emails, etc.

5. Invite other members of your core group to join the CSA. Once you accept their requests, change their member relationship to “Admin” so that they can access your CSA’s toolkit on Local Fork.

Using Member Management

The first thing you need to do is get all your members who have access to the internet to sign up with your organization through Local Fork.

Best Practice:
Send an email with the following instructions to your current mailing list. You will be notified of each member’s request to join your CSA through Local Fork. Simply log in to your Local Fork account and approve or deny the requests.

Option #2:
You can also invite members to join individually by logging into your account, clicking on Organizations > Admin Dashboard > Members > Add New Member (on the upper right of your screen). Fill out the form under “Send an Invitation to Join Via Email.”

Offline Users:
If you have members of your organization that do not have access to the internet, you can still keep track of their membership via Local Fork. You will have to create and update their record manually. Log in to your account, click on Organizations > Admin Dashboard > Members > Add New Member (on the upper right of your screen). Fill out the form under “Create an Offline User.”

Once they are signed up, you will be able to:

  •  - Automatically have access to their contact information
  • - Send email announcements based on the membership role of your subscribers (shareholder, email list subscriber, etc.)
  • - Adjust their membership status according to their role (i.e. historical shareholder, waiting list, etc.)

In the coming weeks and months, Local Fork will be rolling out

  • - Volunteer management tools
  • - Tools to help you export your member’s data
  • - Improved look and feel of the profiles
  • - Newsletter archives
